What to expect on your first visit

Physical Therapy Evaluation

  1. During your initial evaluation, your Physical Therapist will have a conversation with you regarding your area of concern and review your medical history.

  2. Your Physical Therapist will assess your objective and functional capabilities at and surrounding the level of concern, if required, and collect as much information as needed to create a plan tailored to your specific impairments.

  3. Your Physical Therapist will then discuss the results of the findings and work with you to create a personalized plan of care.

  4. Finally, we will review your out-of-clinic plan of action and Home Exercise Program if deemed appropriate. Ultimately, our goal is to ensure we can thoroughly diagnose and create an effective treatment moving forward. The bulk of the recovery process will be handled in the subsequent sessions; however, we will make sure you leave the clinic with ways to address your condition and what to expect in future visits if chosen or deemed beneficial.

Sport Recovery Package

  1. During your initial treatment, your Physical Therapist will have a brief conversation with you regarding your area of concern and review your medical history.

  2. Your Physical Therapist will ask you to expose your area of concern, if necessary. Remember, revealing the treatment area is essential for the best results (subject to change depending on the area).

  3. Your Physical Therapist will then rapidly assess the tissues in question and choose the appropriate tools to begin treatment. Upon completion, your Physical Therapist will assist you in cleaning up and begin the Red Light portion.

  4. Individuals sensitive to bright lights will be given the option to don Red Light-approved eyewear for your comfort before initiating the Red Light Therapy.

  5. Finally, your Physical Therapist will periodically check in on you throughout the Red Light portion of your session until completion.

Please be aware that to effectively receive the benefits of Myofascial therapy, the treatment area should be exposed for optimal manipulation of the problematic tissues or area/s of concern.

Personal Training Evaluation

  1. During the initial assessment, your Strength and Conditioning specialist will have a conversation with you regarding your sport or recreational activity of choice and review your sport, training, and injury history.

  2. Based on the demands of your sport or recreational activity of choice, your Strength and Conditioning Specialist will thoroughly assess your objective and performance metrics, collecting as much information as needed to improve any gaps in athleticism or guide you through specific seasonal goals (Off-season, Pre-season, In-season, Post-season).

  3. Finally, we will review your current performance metrics and compare them to the testing norms and your personal goals to create an effective and personalized training program addressing any deficiencies while biasing sports or activity specificity.

  4. If chosen to optimize your performance with PhysioTough, we may discuss what to expect in future visits.

Please be aware that those wishing to receive traditional personal training may forgo most of the above content if general health or personalized objective improvements are a priority.

  4. Those sensitive to bright lights will be given the option to don Red Light-approved eyewear for your comfort before initiating the Red Light Therapy.

  5. Finally, your Physical Therapist will periodically check in on you throughout the Red Light exposure until completion.
